Description: Keynote address at the conference Canadian Rights and Freedoms: 25 Years Under the Charter held in Ottawa, Canada in 2007 The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms celebrated its 25th anniversary on April 17, 2007. Since its inception, the Charter has transformed the life of millions of Canadians. To mark this important anniversary, the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa held a major conference on April 16 and 17, 2007 entitled, Canadian Rights and Freedoms : 25 Years Under the Charter, in conjunction with the Association of Canadian Studies.
