reGIRL, 4 years ago | FlagThought I didn't catch this at Hot Docs, I had the opportunity to sit in on a presentati on by the producer and some of the subjects of the film. It was interestin g to hear how the stories unfolded, and where their lives have taken them since the documentar y was filmed. What was even more interestin g (or perhaps appalling) was how few of the people in the seminar actually 'got' the subjects of the film. Their lives are their own and are unique. Their right to express themselves as individual s, and to make life choices appropriat e to their wants/need s seemed to be lost on some of the seminar participan ts who felt 'sorry' for them. Yikes.
